Power through transformer electromechanical tests with the new TTRU1, the latest handheld transformer turns ratiometer from Megger. In addition to routine polarity validation and turns ratio tests for power, distribution, and instrument transformers, the TTRU1 can measure short circuit impedance (leakage reactance) with the same one time connection. Guided by colour-coded leads, clamps, and customisable on-screen vectors that match the transformer nameplate under test, the easy to follow setup ensures the right result the first time – just click start and let the patent pending internal shorting and lead compensation do the work!
Perform over 1000 turns ratio tests on a single NiMH AA battery charge. When it’s time to recharge the batteries, connect to any standard USB wall charger, or connect to your PC. When connected to the PC, TTRU1-EXP results can be directly downloaded.

The InsuLogix® G2 provides early detection of faults in
power transformers. The G2 measures the presence of two key gases, plus moisture, for early onset detection of internal faults.
Gases created during an internal fault are a key indicator
used to flag the fault’s severity and evolution in power transformers.
By detecting and measuring both hydrogen and acetylene, the InsuLogix® G2 is the only monitor that a transformer operator needs to efficiently and cost effectively monitor the health of the active part of power transformers.
WHY ACETYLENE AND HYDROGEN?
Hydrogen is an important gas used for early detection of majority of incipient faults. Hydrogen gas is generated during a low temperature fault (>150 °C). Monitoring the hydrogen rate of change in oil to detect the faults in their early stages is a strategy that many utilities have following for the last 30 years.
Acetylene is a gas generated in oil when high energy
faults create temperatures exceeding 700 °C. When levels of acetylene exceeding 1 ppm concentration in oil are detected, operators begin planning action for the asset.
In most situations, the alarms generated by gas monitors
(multigas or single gas) are validated by testing an oil sample in a laboratory before the transformer expert makes a decision.

The FCC3450 is a Bluetooth® enabled flexible current clamp, designed to make AC/DC voltage, frequency, continuity and resistance measurements, as well as AC current up to 3000 A. It measures True RMS voltage up to 1000 V AC/DC and comes with built in display with 10 000 count resolution. As well as resistance, continuity, frequency, and capacitance for quick verifications. It meets CAT IV 600 V and CAT III 1000 V AC/DC safety.
Due to the length and flexibility of the coil, measurements can be made around large conductors, or those conductors inaccessible to a fixed-head clamp.
Pairing with the free Megger Link™ app give the user the ability to make remote readings or record measurements directly to iOS® and Android™ table or phone for storage or report creation.

The FREJA and SMRT Digital Twin is a functional digital twin of the relay test systems FREJA and SMRT from Megger. This pioneering technology enables virtual testing of Siemens SIPROTEC 5 devices through Siemens’ cloud-based SIPROTEC DigitalTwin. The relay tests are performed on-line prior to when the physical devices are accessible and, with tested and approved protection settings, only a subset of the test needs to be repeated on the physical devices to ensure the correct input and output of the hardware and connections.
The tests are performed through the Megger software RTMS in a similar way to how the physical test sets are used. However, instead of analogue signals, the signals are digital. As of March 2023, the digital twin test set conducts the test sequence without feedback from the digital twin relay, which is known as open loop testing. Enabled features and functions are used the same way in the digital twin as the equivalent physical model.
